The Brevity of Life
Our Old Testament Scripture Lesson comes from Ecclesiastes, Chapter 11, Verse 9-
Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
Our New Testament Scripture Lesson comes from First Corinthians, Chapter 7, Verses 29-31
This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none, and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods, and those who deal with the world as though they had no dealings with it. For the present form of this world is passing away.
